Adult Ballet Lessons in Carlisle, Cumbria

Adult Ballet Classes
Ballet begins at any age

Ballet is often seen as something that you have to start early or not at all. Fortunately, this isn't the case, and our adult ballet classes in Carlisle are made to suit all levels of ability, age and experience. Whether you're an absolute beginner who has always wanted to give ballet a go, or someone who danced in the past and has missed having ballet in your life, we have a class for you.

Our adult ballet programme is very popular, and we have daytime and evening classes to choose from. The sessions are always fun, and you'll learn ballet techniques as well as improving your body conditioning and strength. Your weekly ballet class can be that time in the week when you focus on something just for yourself and switch off from everyday life.

Neither age, size, nor ability should stop you from enjoying a ballet class. It doesn't matter if you can't touch your toes or execute a pirouette, when you join our friendly adult classes you’ll be joining a relaxed and welcoming group of people who also have an interest in ballet. It's never too late to fall in love with dance!

If you're looking for a fun dancing class for adults, we'll be delighted to welcome you to our studio in Carlisle and guide you on your ballet journey.

Ballet Classes for Adults

Join one of our popular ballet dancing classes for adults at our studio in Carlisle. Though you can join at any point during the year (between September and July), we don't run 'drop-in' classes. Instead, you’ll focus on building your work from the previous week so that you can always see your progress. We think this way is much more enjoyable and rewarding!

Class sizes are relatively small, with a maximum of 12-16 people per lesson. This allows teachers to give attention to every individual, as well as the group as a whole. You’ll find a calm, safe and encouraging space during lessons, so you can relax and enjoy spending the time doing something you love.

Ballet for Beginner Adults

Our adult beginner ballet classes are very popular! They're perfect if you’re a complete beginner, danced as a child, or have had a long break and are returning to dance classes. Wear whatever you find comfortable to move in, and come along for a taster session or two if you're not entirely sure.

Adult Improvers Ballet

This improvers ballet class is a good option if you danced as a teenager, are returning to dancing after a short break, or are moving up from the beginner's class. We’ll spend time fine-tuning your technique and doing more advanced work.

Class Fees

We know that coming to a brand-new class, especially if you've never tried ballet before, can be a bit unnerving. That's why all new students can pay weekly for the first couple of classes, giving you the chance to see whether the class is right for you before you sign up.

Once you've signed up, payment is due on the 1st of each month. You can manually pay this via bank transfer, or set up a standing order so you never miss a payment.

A one-hour class is £9 per person. You can read more about our fees here.

Ballet Shoes, Dance Wear and Accessories

All of our adult ballet classes are relaxed, and you don't need to wear anything particular to take part. As long as you're comfortable and easily able to move, then you're good to go. However, if you would like to buy ballet shoes or anything else, we sell these at the studio. You can browse when you visit or get in touch to ask about available items.

Not Sure Where to Start?

We are very happy to meet with you or have a chat over the phone to discuss which of our ballet classes is best for you and to answer any questions you may have. If you would like to arrange a time to visit the studio and meet the teacher, or arrange a phone call, you can contact us here.
